Coleman was a Lancashire resident born in Blackpool. She was a student at the Arnold School in Blackpool where she was head girl and gained straight As in her A-levels. As she discussed her Emmerdale character she expressed her regret at having not attended a university. When she was at school, Coleman was part of a theatre company called In Yer Space with whom she was a part of the Edinburgh Festival in the play Crystal Clear. In addition to receiving a prize for her acting, the production it performed attracted a lot of attention. Coleman was given the part as Jasmine Thomas at Emmerdale while performing in drama school in 2005. Coleman got two nominations in the year 2007. At the British Soap Awards she was nominated as Best Newcomer and at the National Television Awards she was awarded the title of the Most Popular Newcomer. In 2009 she won nominated in the two categories including Best Actress-Sexiest Female as well as Best Performance Dramatic. Coleman was nominated for Best Actress at the TV Choice Awards. The 21st of March, 2012 Doctor Who producer Steven Moffat announced at a press event that Coleman would play the Doctor's companion alongside Matt Smith after Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill have left the show. Moffat chose her due to how well she could work with Smith as well as the fact that she was faster at speaking than Smith. Eva Larue..............................Eva LaRue is an American actor and model. Her career has been in the entertainment industry since 1987. Eva has been more visible on television than films. Eva is best known for her work in the role of Dr. Maria Santos on All My Children and as the detective Natalia Boa Vistas in CSI Miami. She was nominated for two "Daytime Emmys" for her first part as well as having the an opportunity to explore her artistic talents. Eva is not just acting, but she's also a businesswoman and philanthropist. Her third husband is the father of her daughter.
