sylvester stallone-4-1024x1024Stallone was conceived in Hell's Kitchen, New York City's charitable hospital. Forceps used during his birth caused damage to a facial nerve giving him an eyelid that was droopy and a speech impairment. Stallone spent much of his youth in boarding schools. He returned to his family at the age of five and was able to move with them to Maryland. Stallone initially stayed with his father following his divorce from his parents in 1957, but at age fifteen, he remarried his mother in Philadelphia. Because of his previous history of expulsion from schools Stallone was enrolled in a private school for troubled teens.
